Shirish Kunder apologises to Shah Rukh Khan
If sources are to be believed, Shirish Kunder has extended the olive branch to Shah Rukh Khan. Yes, Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder made their way to Shah Rukh Khan's residence, Mannat, this evening and Shirish we hear said 'Sorry' to SRK!
It was Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala who played mediator and peace-maker, and made the two parties kiss and make up.
Shah Rukh Khan, we hear, was in a rather forgiving mood, and simply went ahead and hugged Farah and Shirish. Farah, too, said she was sorry, or so we hear.
Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan have been good friends for far too long and it's not easy for one to remain angry on the other for a long time.
So all's well that ends well, we guess.

Breaking news: Shah Rukh-Farah Khan hug after slapping incident
Director Farah Khan's brother Sajid has reportedly brokered peace between his sister and superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Khan, who has been accused of beating Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt's party, today termed the allegations a "Shakespearean farce."
In a telephonic conversation with news channel CNN-IBN, Sajid said that he brought the two warring parties together in order to resolve the conflict. He said that Farah and Shah Rukh have been friends for 20 years and he wanted them to get rid of the negative air around.
"There were hugs and tears when Farah, I And Shirish went to Mannat to resolve the issue," said Sajid.
He also mentioned that Shah Rukh had been one of the three witnesses when Farah married Kunder and that he was family.
Details are awaited.Source: http://www.dnaindia.com/entertainment/report_breaking-news-shah-rukh-farah-khan-patch-up-after-slapping-incident_1644333

SRK slaps ex-friend Farah Khan’s husband
After being stalked by Kunder right through the party, Khan, as he was about to leave, lost his cool and allegedly pinned him onto a sofa and slapped him. Although Farah spent the better part of Monday railing against her former 'best friend' SRK for slapping her husband and attacking him for "no reason", she and Kunder will not be approaching the police.
Kunder on Monday evening tweeted: "We have no intention of filing an FIR or a police complaint." Both Dutt, who had attempted to separate the two, and SRK are maintaining a stony silence.
The incident took place around 4.15am on Monday at a party hosted in Dutt's honour by the owner of the nightclub following Sunday's Filmfare Awards. Eyewitnesses give conflicting accounts of the nature of the scuffle: some say the duo came to blows, others say the actor simply slapped Kunder.
Shah Rukh arrived at Dutt's party around 3.15am. A few minutes into the party, the superstar hit the dance floor and began dancing with Dutt, his wife Manyata and a group of friends. He was in a good mood, and even posed for pictures. Kunder didn't provoke SRK, says Farah
An eyewitness present at the party said, "Shirish Kunder kept hovering around Shah Rukh and followed him onto the dance floor, but the actor simply ignored him." The relationship between the two was at an all-time low after Kunder had criticized SRK's recent film 'Ra One' on a microblogging site. He had posted an insulting, 'I just heard a Rs150 crore firework fizzle' remark online.
"Khan refused to acknowledge Kunder at the party. Even when Dutt escorted SRK outside the venue to introduce him to a close friend, Kunder unabashedly followed them," said an eyewitness. "Kunder placed himself right behind SRK and murmured something into his ear." It was the proverbial straw that broke the camel, or in this case, Khan's back. "An annoyed SRK, who was actually preparing to leave the party, turned around, held Kunder by the scruff of the neck, and forced him to sit on a sofa near the nightclub's exit," said the guest.
After a heated exchange of words, SRK slapped Kunder. Dutt, who was aware of the acrimonious relationship between the two, rushed to defuse the situation and pulled them apart. Here eyewitness accounts differ with many claiming that Dutt allegedly responded in kind when Kunder pushed him roughly.
Farah, who had not attended the party, maintained that her husband did nothing to provoke SRK. She said, "Those who were present told me that the attack was completely unprovoked. Shirish didn't even know that Shah Rukh was at the party."
In a mass sms sent to the media, Farah said: "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem. It means the attacker has either a personal or professional crisis going on. It saddens me to see him doing the same." This is not the first time that Kunder has taken a swipe at SRK. At another Bollywood party, Kunder had criticized Ra One, sources told TOI.
The party quickly wrapped up after the fracas: Dutt and his wife Manyata left in one car, while builder and owner of the club Baba Dewan and SRK left in another vehicle.
The party had been hosted by Dewan for Dutt following the success of the latter's latest release Agneepath. Some of the stars who attended the party included Priyanka Chopra, Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan.
Khan Vs Kunder
Conflicting reports | According to guests, Kunder had been following SRK all through the party, though Farah has denied these reports. When Dutt escorted SRK outside the venue to introduce him to a close friend, Kunder placed himself right behind SRK and murmured something into his ear, said one guest. An annoyed SRK, who was about to leave turned around, held Kunder by the scruff of the neck, and forced him to sit on a sofa near the nightclub's exit. "After a heated exchange of words SRK slapped him," said a guest
PAST TIFFS Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan | They had a showdown at a party hosted by Salman for actor Katrina Kaif's birthday in 2008 Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi | On April 1, 2003, Vivek had called a press conference claiming that a drunk Salman had contacted him 41 times over the phone. Oberoi claimed the actor had abused him and had even threatened to kill him Best friends no longer
They were once the best of friends, but the 14-year friendship between actor Shah Rukh Khan and choreographerturned-director Farah Khan hit a sour note in 2009. SRK had refused to star in Farah's husband Shirish Kunder's film. The rift only widened over the years. SRK was committed to starring in Farah's 'Happy New Year' and had even set dates aside for it. He requested her to make some changes in the script, before finalizing the project, said sources. But Farah was keen on launching her own production house and announced her first home production 'Tees Maar Khan' with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in 2009. SRK was upset with the director as she had not only wasted his dates, but had failed to mention 'Tees Maar Khan'.
Until then, Farah had choreographed Shah Rukh Khan in almost all her films from 'Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India' in 1995 to 'My Name is Khan' in 2009.
SRK gave Farah her first directorial debut in 'Main Hoon Naa' in 2004 followed by 'Om Shanti Om' in 2007.

Shah Rukh Khan assaults film-maker Shirish Kunder
Those who're following Shirish Kunder on the popular micro-blogging site would opine that his tweets against RA.One would irk Shah Rukh Khan.
At the same time, those who disagree would be quick to point out that if the actor can take digs at others, then he should have a sense of humour to accept jibes directed at him too.
In the early hours of Sunday, the actor-producer retaliated to the director's remarks, not verbally, but physically. Yes, it is learnt that SRK slapped and punched Shirish and also commented on the latter's friendship with his arch rival and foe, Salman Khan.
Pic: Yogen Shah
After Karan Johar's press meet on Friday and Hrithik Roshan's party on Saturday, Sanjay Dutt hosted a bash at a popular Juhu nightspot to celebrate his success in the recently released Agneepath.
The actor, who's earned rave reviews for his portrayal of the menacing Kancha Cheena in the Karan Malhotra directorial, surely didn't anticipate that it would turn into a battlefield between SRK and Shirish, both of whom he had invited.
A well-placed industry source tells us that it was past 3:30 am and Shirish was talking to someone about films, particularly RA.One when SRK sauntered in and overheard him.
"Not pleased to hear anything negative about his movies, Shah Rukh confronted Shirish and started hitting him. At the same time, he also said something about Salman being his (Kunder's) friend and that he'd teach him (Salman) a lesson too," recalls our source.
Apparently, Baba Diwan, who's Sanjay and Salman's good friend didn't take this comment kindly and tried to reason with SRK. "Seeing Baba Dewan intervene, Sanju too rushed towards them to break up the fight," says our source, adding that soon afterwards, at about 4 am, Shirish walked out, covering his face which had begun to swell as he had been badly hit. Incidentally, neither Shirish's wife Farah nor SRK's wife Gauri attended this party.
"A brief while after Shirish left, the party ended with Sanjay, SRK, Baba Dewan and their friends too leaving the venue," sums up our informer.
On her part, Farah maintained, "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who's hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. So it saddens me to see him doing the same."
When contacted, Shirish said that he didn't even know when SRK walked in. Recollecting being dragged by the hair and pushed on the couch, he said, "Shah Rukh punched and jumped on me. And he had three bodyguards with him. I don't know what got him. I was numb with shock so I couldn't react. He kept screaming at me, 'What do you think of yourself? I'll see to it that you're out of this industry."
Asserting that he didn't know what instigated SRK into attacking him, Shirish stated, "I was totally unprepared for this kind of an attack. If I was standing in some area where I would expect some goondaism, I would have been better prepared. But this is a classy party. Who would expect someone to jump on your from behind?" The director adds that Dutt and Baba intervened to stop SRK's attack. "I walked out of the party after that. He is taking out his personal frustrations on anyone he comes across."
Angry and upset at the turn of events Shirish isn't taking this lightly. He thunders, "Next time, I challenge him (SRK) to come in front of me to fight. I will give it right back to him. Someone please ask him to stop behaving like an old, spineless faggot. He kept telling me go back to your friend and tell him main uski ***** marunga. If he has some problem with that friend of mine, why doesn't he have the guts to confront him?"
We tried contacting SRK for his side of the story, but he didn't respond to our text message. However, a friend of the actor-producer said, "Shirish was talking ill about RA.One and kept talking about Salman, which infuriated Shah Rukh. SRK and Sanju asked him to shut up, but he kept talking. So SRK punched him."
Another senior producer pointed that both SRK and Shirish were to be blamed for it. "Shirish had taken digs at RA.One on Twitter, which haven't gone down well with the actor-producer. As for SRK, he has taken potshots at other industry people. So when someone aims jibes at him, he should be just as sporting as he expects others to be," he said not before concluding that this will further spoil things not only between SRK and Farah, but also between SRK and Salman. Now it remains to be seen how Salman reacts to this fight and SRK's message to him through Shirish.
It is learnt that earlier at a party thrown by Ritesh Deshmukh, Shah Rukh instigated Shirish into an argument. But luckily it didn't end up in physical fight.

Shah Rukh Khan's scuffle with Farah Khan's husband
It's a known fact that Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan who were once the best friends in industry have gone different ways. Though they never spoke about it, Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder seems to have much to do with the divide. And when Khan and Kunder crossed paths at a recent event, there were more than fireworks on display.
Last evening after Filmfare Awards, Shah Rukh Khan headed straight to Sanjay Dutt's party where there were celebrating the success of Agneepath and the popularity of new-age Kancha Cheena in particular. There Shah Rukh stumbled upon Shirish Kunder and Farah Khan.
Sources at the party claim that SRK confronted Shirish Kunder about the constant digs he had been taking on Shah Rukh's superhero film Ra.One on social networking sites. The war of words escalated into a physical brawl and finally host Sanjay Dutt had to intervene to get them apart.
Farah Khan directed Shah Rukh Khan in two of his home productions - Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007), both of which turned out to be superhits. Shirish Kunder edited both the films.

SRK slapped my husband in Sanjay Dutt's party: Farah Khan
In a telephonic conversation with Headlines Today, the editor-turned-filmmaker's choreographer-cum-director wife Farah Khan confirmed the incident and said three of SRK's bodyguards joined the superstar in thrashing her husband.
"Shirish, my husband, was beaten up by Shah Rukh and his three bodyguards in Sanjay Dutt's party. Shah Rukh asked Shirish why he had tweeted against him... There was no provocation from our side. He had screamed at Shirish telling him that he would destroy me as well," Farah told Headlines Today.

SRK's turn to play a cop?
If there's one role that B'wood actors love to play it's that of a cop. Ask the Big B who was a cop in several films, or Sallu, Ajay Devgn or Akshay Kumar who all went on to enjoy phenomenal success at the BO with their policeman acts. Call it his late entry to action films or bad luck SRK hasn't been able to get too many offers for playing a cop (the only one being the flop 'One 2 Ka 4'). But all that could change soon.
Rumour has it that south Indian veteran Kamal Haasan wants SRK to play his role in the remake of his Tamil film 'Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu,' that became a cult hit in 2006. In the movie Kamal played a police officer who has to figure out the culprit behind a series of rapes and murders.
Apparently, the director of the movie Gautam Menon (who already has a remake of his Tamil film titled 'Ek Deewana Tha,' starring Prateik Babbar hitting the theatres in February) was keen on taking Kamal's opinion on the lead actor in the Hindi version. Kamal immediately named SRK as the apt choice. That Kamal chose SRK doesn't seem surprising. The two share a good friendship that started when SRK agreed to do a cameo in the Kamal's film 'Hey Ram' back in 2000.
When Filmmaker Gautam Menon was approached for comment he confirmed the news and dismissed rumours of him considering Salman for the remake. Surprisingly, it is believed SRK hasn't signed the project yet. Sources close to him say he is hesitant because arch rival Aamir is already playing a cop in 'Talaash'.

Shah Rukh Khan shows his love for Gauri
For everyone working overtime contemplating problems in Shah Rukh Khan's paradise, King Khan has proved that he is an eternal romantic and loyal lover not just onscreen but also off-screen, in personal life.
Recently rumours were rife that there seem to be some problems between the steady couple Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan because of SRK's over-friendliness with Priyanka Chopra. The sizzling chemistry between the Don costars was said to have transpired beyond the silver screen. Shah Rukh never reacted to these reports but had his own way of putting the rumours to rest.
Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan had recently been to an awards function in foreign lands and their camaraderie at the after party seemed just out of a Bollywood love story. A source present at the party said, "Shah Rukh invited Gauri for a dance and expectedly she graced the dance floor. The couple indulged in a love-soaked ball-dance on some beautiful numbers and their chemistry was for everyone to see".
We must say Shah Rukh Khan clearly knows how to silence his detractors without speaking a word!

I’ll be there for my team: Shah Rukh Khan
"I've just started working with Katrina (actor Katrina Kaif). She puts in a lot of effort to make her character look and sound believable," says Shah Rukh, minutes after finishing his anchoring gig at Colors' Screen Awards that took place in Mumbai recently. "I'm working with Yashji after a long time and it's been a breeze."
The upcoming schedule of the film is likely to start in London. Another schedule is due in April, when the love story's second leading lady, Anushka Sharma, will join the cast and crew.
Meanwhile, back home, an auction for cricket players for the Indian Premier League's fifth edition is likely to be held on February 4. The tournament flags off on April 4 in Chennai.
Given his tight shooting schedules, will SRK make it to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) matches this time? "I don't know my exact schedule yet. So, I don't know where I'll be on the day of the auctions," he says, adding, "But regardless of what I'm doing, I will be there for my team with my friends and family, cheering the way I have been for the last four seasons. Our boys have been practicing hard and the team has shaped up well. The credit goes to the coach and the players who've been putting in a lot of time and energy."
Kolkata Knight Riders had lost a couple of players to Kochi Tuskers Kerala, a new team that entered the fourth season of the tournament. Now that it has been dissolved, a couple of KKR's old players will be available at the auctions. "It would be nice to see some of our old faces play for us again," says Shah Rukh, adding, "But even if we don't manage to get any of them back, we're looking fine. Our last season put a smile on our faces. This time, we just intend to make that smile bigger."
SRK, Katrina show off their chemistry
Shah Rukh Khan faces the camera with Katrina Kaif, who happens to be close to his rival, actor Salman Khan, for the first time for Yash Chopra's film. While details, including the film's storyline and music, are being kept under wraps, SRK gave a glimpse of his on-screen chemistry with Katrina at a recent award show. When asked if the duo had become friends, he says, "We haven't become best friends but she's a nice girl to work with. And we never dig into the past (the popular Salman-SRK squabble)."
Ask Katrina about working with SRK and Salman in the same calendar year, and she says, "I don't take work from one set to the other. Shah Rukh and Salman are my co-stars and I respect them equally and immensely."

Five reasons you shouldn't miss Ra.One on TV
Shahrukh Khan's magnum science fiction action film premieres on Star Gold on the 21st January at 9 pm and here are five reasons you should watch it with your whole family!
Jaw-dropping visual shots: There are more than 3000 effects shots in Ra.One. The film has been critically lauded by effects supervisors and animators throughout the world for its realistic and yet otherworldly special effects. Shots including a single scene involving flying glass, and G.One's and Ra.One's looks and suits are extraordinary in terms of Bollywood cinema.
Criminally gorgeous: Kareena Kapoor looks awesomely gorgeous throughout the film and her performance in the numbers Chammak Challo and Criminal are a visual treat. If not for anything else, the film is a worth watch for Kareena's adaahs, matkas and jhatkas.
The villain is stronger: Ra.One's born as a request by a kid to a father. The son wants the 'villain to be stronger than the hero', because that's cooler. The film plays on the new generation's love for more edgy cinema against the far cry from those days of superheroes being invincible.
Shahrukh and Arjun: Shahrukh plays a superhero, who saves the day to tremendous effect in a genre which rarely works for Indian audiences. Arjun's performance as the villain and looks, despite the relatively small screen time he gets as antagonist, are awesome and will be remembered for years to come.
Hollywood, what?: Hollywood was seen to be incomparable and immaculate as compared to Bollywood films for years and years, but the arrival of Ra.One is definitely testament to the skill, detail and extraordinary visuals that can be achieved in a Bollywood film. The film happened after two years of effort by SRK and team, which involved thousands of people. Rarely has Bollywood achieved a near-international standard of visual perfection.

Shah Rukh Khan pecks at Katrina Kaif
Shah Rukh Khan hosted the 18th Annual Screen Awards on Saturday, January 14, alongside Shahid Kapoor, but it was only Shah Rukh who got to peck Katrina Kaif on her cheek.
The King Khan went out of his way to entertain everyone at the award ceremony.
It was a gala night with performances by the top stars of Bollywood including Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. But the high point of the evening was Shah Rukh Khan's gig with Katrina Kaif.
Kat may have been wondering – What is Salman Khan going to say?
Salman was, of course, here in Dubai for the Celebrity Cricket League 2 with his brother Sohail Khan.
During the award night, dressed dapperly in a tuxedo, Shah Rukh Khan wooed Katrina Kaif who looked drop-dead gorgeous in a pink saree. The duo performed to a romantic track, reports sawfnews.com.
But Katrina was not the only one Shahrukh shook his leg with. The superstar serenaded beauties like Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan too.
"Too much fun with Vidya..Madhuri..Katrina...Sajid. Hope the audience enjoys it too. Now looking forward to zee after screen awards..loving it," Shah Rukh Khan later wrote on his Twitter page.
Well when it comes to romance, there is none in Bollywood like Shah Rukh Khan.
My kids are also my competitors: Shah Rukh Khan
"It feels nice to win awards. There is a sense of competition with my kids because they win prizes for racing, taekwondo, riding etc. So I'll go home and show my kids that even I have won two awards," the 46-year-old actor said here at the awards function.
He bagged popular choice best actor for " Don 2: The KIng Is Back" and best jodi award for his pairing with Priyanka Chopra.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh had two releases this year and both the films - " Ra. One" and "Don 2" - crossed the Rs.100 crore-mark at the box office.
He says he does not work for money and added: "I understand the rupees and crores less and you understand it even lesser. Please don't ask me questions on crores and stuff like that. I have been working hard for 20 years and only work to make the public happy.
"Hopefully, this year too I'll work with the same motive and not count numbers. Telephones have numbers and not actors, producers."
SRK is currently working in Yash Chopra's next untitled film with Katrina Kaif. He is also co-producing "Student Of the Year" with Karan Johar.

Shah Rukh Khan 's khwab just went epic
If Ra.One is the costliest movie ever made, then here is a contender in the making. Actor-filmmaker Shah Rukh Khan has admittedto an international newspaper that he is trying to make a film on Mahabharat which sources say will be mounted on a grander scale than his last Diwali release Ra.One. Sources say that this time the production and the publicity cost could well be over Rs 200 crores.
"Shah Rukh is already excited about the Mahabharat project and he thinks that it might be far bigger and better in its scale than Ra.One. He is also in talks with a foreign production house to market it properly into territories where Bollywood has never been. It will be a truly world commercial release," says a source.
Sources also say that Shah Rukh wants the special effects of this film to be more advanced than James Cameron's Avatar. "He is pretty excited about it and the table-work for the movie is already on. On the other hand, we are already exploring options of a tie-up for the production. Shah Rukh is of the opinion that the marketing of the film can be thought about later on. Right now, all we need is a great product (read film)," the source.
SRK, in his interview with a London-based foreign newspaper, has already announced his intention of making a film on the epic.
"His ultimate goal, he says, is to make the mother of all Indian movies, an Avatar-style spectacular based on the Mahabharata, which he claims could be Bollywood's first truly global blockbuster. That would cost much more, he says, probably only slightly less than the $450 million (approximately Rs 2,250 crore) spent on Avatar," says The Times.
"I think it would be fantastic, the world's greatest film. It would be Mahabharata made like Lord of the Rings — a trilogy. The world would come to see it. The inherent story is one of the most interesting in the world. There are amazing superheroes, 20 times better than X-men — gods of the sun and wind who can make fire and gales at will. There are monsters, ghosts. It's really awesome," he was quoted to have said.
According to the report, Shah Rukh has already held talks with Hollywood studios in India like 20th Century Fox and Warner Brothers.

I wish I had made 'RA.One' better: Shah Rukh Khan
"I think it's very, very important in entertainment to get into merchandising, to get into gaming and be on the net... we cannot negate that any more, whatever the level of film you are making," Shah Rukh, who was honoured at the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards 2011 with the title of Creative Entrepreneur of The Year in Mumbai, said in a tete-a-tete with the channel.
SRK, known for coining some of the best marketing strategies to sell his films, associated with over 50 brands for his mega-production 'RA.One'. However, he received mixed reaction for the movie, which was directed by Anubhav Sinha.
It's very important because a film like 'RA.One' lends itself a little more, it's for children, it's superhero and stuff. I wish I had made it a little better because people started jumping on my back, 'Itna market kiya aur aisa picture banaya tumne (You marketed it so much, and made a film like this)', So, I got a little waylaid on that," he added.
The movie, a sci-fi project, had a production cost of Rs.150 crore, and according to reports, his tie-ups to market the film were worth Rs.52 crore. Shah Rukh, a graduate in Economics, feels it's important to look at films as a product nowadays.
"I think you really need to take films and think of it as a product and put it across, and inform everyone what this product is because it is very expensive to go and buy the ticket.
"You know it's Rs 500-Rs 700, so you need to tell the customer this is what it is going to be. The more the channels you can inform on, I think more you are right about your product," said Shah Rukh, who had begun promoting 'RA.One' months before its release.
With 'RA.One', King Khan also brought into spotlight the importance of technology in taking Indian cinema global.
"To be really honest, even to the other producers and myself, I tell them put it (money) into the film, because I truly believe the technology and you know the way Indian films look... it's very important to go to the next level in terms of technology, otherwise we will lose."
"...the danger is not that we are going to crossover or not, the danger is whether we are going to lose the Indian audience for the Indian films. We are the only country in the world which still has regional audiences, so to say. Otherwise Hollywood has taken over everywhere, and the only way we can make sure that we continue to have youngsters like our films is increasing our technology."
"Otherwise 10 years from now there will be no Hindi films and I say that with utmost sadness. I really feel that if we don't push it a little more in terms of marketing and technology, we will not have Hindi films," added the 46-year-old.
The event, which took place in Mumbai Saturday, will go on air Jan 14 on NDTV Profit.

Bollywood in North America Edition
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's newest film, "Don 2," has surpassed the 2011 record for the highest-grossing Bollywood movie in North America.
In just 11 days, from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2nd, the Farah Akhtar-directed action flick grossed $3.3 million, beating the previous record of $3.1 million in 10 weeks for "Zindagi Na Milegi," which starred Hrithik Roshan. If "Don 2″ continues its strong streak, it's poised to become one of the top grossing Bollywood films in North America of all time ("3 Idiots" at $6.5 million and "My Name is Khan" at $4 million currently hold the honors).
The number is bigger than the first "Don," which hit theaters stateside and in Canada in 2006 and had a gross of slightly more than $2 million. It is also a jump from the $2.5 million earned by Khan's other action movie from 2011, "R.A. One," which released during Diwali.
Only seven Bollywood movies have crossed the $3 million mark in North America, according to Gitesh Pandya, head of Box Office Guru, a New York City company that markets Indian films in North America, including "Don 2." He said there are two reasons for the jump in revenue from the first to the second installments of the film: an increased number of theaters the second movie is playing in (160 compared with the 113 in 2006) and its release during the December holiday season, when consumers have more time off to head to the movies.
Overall, Bollywood movies bring in more money today than three or four years ago because they are played in far more theaters, he said. "The films used to typically run in less than 80 theaters, many of which were Indian film houses," Mr. Pandya said. "Now, as the interest in Bollywood has grown with Indians and non-Indians, the ones with the big stars are released in double the number of theaters, including American multiplexes like Regal and AMC."
"Don 2″ also stars Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Om Puri and is centered around the mobster Don, played by Khan. The first film was set in Kuala Lumpur, while the second is set in Berlin and focuses on Don trying to break into a bank to steal plates that make euros.

Big fat Dubai wedding: Bollywood stars and Pervez Musharraf
Was it only a simple year-end vacation that drew many Bollywood celebrities to Dubai last week or they did they have some business planned with pleasure?
The Bollywood stars had plans of attending a high profile event when they flew down to Dubai. However, this plan remained by and large under the wraps.
Some of the B-town's biggest stars made a beeline for the city when the year drew to an end - from the badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan to the ruler of hearts Hrithik Roshan.
Shah Rukh was accompanied by wife Gauri and the kids and they all decided to ring in the New Year in their Palm Jumeirah villa.
Hrithik and Sussane Roshan, along with Arjun and Mehr Jessica Rampal and their kids also joined the Khans in their festivities.
But Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Hrithik Roshan also attended a high-profile wedding on December 30 during their stay here in Dubai.
They made special appearance at the wedding of Pakistan media mogul Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman's daughter, who tied the knot with the son of an investment banker who has made inroads into the media business. And the grand event happened in Dubai.
Atlantis Hotel was the main venue for the wedding reception where stars and famous personalities had gathered. But the icing on the wedding cake was when Shah Rukh Khan walked in with Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Arjun Rampal.
Just before SRK walked in another VVIP, former Pakistan President Musharraf, had been lapping all the limelight.
But King Khan's entry saw the spot light shift and the guests went hysterical. The stage nearly collapsed under the onslaught of fans and the screams of joy could be heard a mile away and beyond.
An eyewitness told Emirates 24|7 that an announcement was soon made that the screams were from SRK's admirers from Lahore and Karachi to which the SRK quipped, "And I am a Muslim from Peshawar!" More screams of joy and enthusiasm were heard when SRK spoke to the guests.

SRK traces Bollywood's number game!
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose mega-budget production " RA.One" has earned more than Rs.100 crore, recalls the time when 100 days in the theatre was victory enough for film producers.
"Was discussing with my DDLJ ('Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge') friend how we wished for a 100 days for our film... rather than Rs.100 crore. Seems our days are truly numbered now!!" tweeted Shah Rukh.
The actor's last release "Don 2: The King Is Back" is also on its way to register earnings over the Rs.100 crore-mark.
After a relaxed holiday in Dubai with his family and friends, it seems Shah Rukh is now getting back into work mode.
"The excitement of working on a new script covers up the stress of daily chores. I think I was made to entertain... not be entertained," he added.
