Shah Rukh Khan's next film Fan: Story to focus on rivalry? New plot rumours surface online

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, Fan, is clearly one of the most eagerly-awaited movies of the year – mainly because of its unique story idea. While it is known that the plot revolves around a fan's obsession with his favourite movie star, it is unclear whether the film has any dark undertones – like Yash Chopra's classic psycho thriller Darr.

Rumour mills are in overdrive about some key details regarding the plot of the film. Apparently the film's storyline will focus on "a rivalry between the superstar and his biggest fan," reports Business of Cinema. "It is also said that the film has an action sequence towards the end which will play a very important role in the whole scenario."

Reports indicate that SRK's character in the film, named Gaurav (who plays the diehard fan) will be seen wearing some of the actual clothes worn by the star in earlier films – like the hat and leather jacket from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

Fan is expected to be a very different kind of SRK film, and judging by the promos, it definitely looks like the film could do well on the box office. In an earlier interview, Khan himself indicated that Fan is more of a novel subject and quite unlike his regular blockbuster masala films like Dilwale and Happy New Year.

"If you're looking for novelty, then you should watch out for Fan," said SRK. "It's a different kind of film, meant to be a niche... not a blockbuster."

The Bollywood star added, "Films are novel in their storytelling, unless you have a completely niche or offbeat subject, and you take a subject not touched upon". Fan opens in theatres on 15 April 2016.

I Want to Buy a Plane, but Don't Have Money: Shahrukh

He is one of the highest paid actors of Bollywood, but there are things that even Shah Rukh Khan can't buy. The cine icon says he aspires to buy a plane, but is running low on funds as he has used them up to make films.

"I want to buy a plane but I don't have money. I put all my money in my films. I would really like to travel in a private plane because I can do a lot more work... One day I will make sure I have enough money. But I don't have enough money as I put in films. There is always a choice - buy a plane or make a film - so I make a film," said Shah Rukh.

The 50-year-old star, who has earned epithets like 'King Khan', 'Badshah' and 'The King Of Romance' after being part of the entertainment industry for over two decades, opened about his professional as well as personal life with his fans and by answering questions through #fame, a live video social platform.

After making his way into the world of glitz and glamour through the small screen, the actor took the leap for silver screen. The "Dilwale" star is not only known as an entertainer, but as a successful entrepreneur. He owns a film production company Red Chillies Entertainment with his wife Gauri.

When the superstar was asked about his "biggest worry" in life, Shah Rukh said: "I have a lot of worries in life because when you are at this level and are doing such kind of work, then there are a lot of things you have to look at."

"The biggest worry is that you have to be nice to everyone, care about everyone and think about everyone. There are days when I just want to say that 'No, I don't want to...somebody please take care of me'."

"And you are always worried about making sure that if you are in a place, or you are meeting someone, then you don't end up hurting someone. But there are days when I want to have no worries, no working worries."
On the professional front, Shah Rukh is gearing up for two big releases - "Fan" and "Raees".

Shahrukh Khan stays away from social media; Here’s why!

Mumbai: While interacting with fans through #fame, a live video social platform, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan says that he now prefers to maintain distance from social mediums due to the abusive approach and idiotic stuff from a section a people.

"I don't come (on Twitter) that often. I don't like people abusing and all. I don't need to open my telephone and see the negativity. So, I don't like it… there are some idiots who talk really idiotic stuff and say bad things, so I don't like to read (it) and unfortunately I end up reading it whether I like it or not," the actor said.

Shah Rukh added, "So just one little thing… Don't abuse on social media and don't say bad things about other actors and actresses… because I don't feel like that myself for anyone and nobody is important enough in life to be abused I did a few times and I regret doing it."

Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan were present at the do along with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Rohit Shetty said, "When you shoot with a couple who has been synonymous with romance on the big screen of our times, a director has an added responsibility of enhancing the grandeur that they carry. Iceland was the perfect location for Gerua, where every locale is untouched and does justice to not only the song but SRK and Kajol as well. Pritam has given a melody which will be hummed by every age and Arijit and Antara have sung the song with perfection. Gerua will take romance to another level."

Shah Rukh Khan said "Since Kajol and I are coming back together on-screen after years, Rohit felt that we should try and make Gerua stand out better than all the other songs we have done earlier. We have done many beautiful songs and are really fortunate to have done those. But Rohit was very clear and precise about how he would like to shoot this one. He paid attention to every detail starting from choice of location, costumes and every other technicality because it was essential to him."

Speaking on how different Gerua would be from their earlier tracks, he further added "It's all about the old world charm of Kajol and I but presented in a manner that is very much like Rohit Shetty. Shooting for the song was extremely difficult. It was cold and we could barely walk but Rohit made everything easy. He has made so many efforts which would possibly never be known except in the making video. When you have such a director who is always eager to help, the actors feel much at ease and eventually the song also turns out fabulous."

Kajol said, "We shot the song in a start to finish schedule of 7 days. We worked really hard and it was severe cold but had a great time in all as the song itself is so good that we enjoyed performing. I am sure the audiences will also find it magical once they see it on-screen".

Pritam said, "This film has been extremely special for me as it is the first time I have composed for SRK. I have always mentioned to him how I really wanted to work with him before I retire. I feel happy and fortunate to have been given this opportunity to create a romantic song for SRK and Kajol, the greatest on-screen couple of our era. It was a big challenge and responsibility and I hope Gerua lives upto it."

Venky Mysore, CEO, RCE said, "It is our privilege to present the world with the first song of Dilwale and what better can it be than a love song. SRK and Kajol have been lighting up the big screen for years and each time we get mesmerized with their presence. Shah Rukh Khan, Shah Rukh Khan twitter, Shah Rukh Khan facebook live app, Shah Rukh Khan facebook, Shah Rukh Khan fans, srk twitter, srk facebook chat, ask srk, asksrk

That despite being one of the busiest actors in the Indian Film Industry, Shah Rukh Khan still takes time out to stay in touch with his fans and followers is just the prologue to his eminence as an actor. King Khan is proactive in trying new tools introduced every now and then in social media, to get connected with his fans and followers in a better way. Facebook recently introduced a new feature by the name of Facebook Mentions. Under it, there is a facility called Facebook Live, a live-streaming tool, that primarily would allow celebrities to connect with their fans. It partnered with SRK to test and launch the new application in India. And an inquisitive and sharp mind, SRK took no time to try it out and became the first Indian celebrity to avail this app.

While on his way, amidst a crawling traffic and on the sets of his upcoming movie 'Fan', SRK obliged the millions of his fans by using this tool, though amidst a lot of network issues and outage. But who's complaining, when you have a dekko of what makes a particular day in SRK's life? So, while SRK, in his most adorable and witty avatar, introduced his audience to his teams – make up, set design and technical, he also made Greg Cannom, the Oscar winner make up artiste, mouth the lines, "Buddha Hoga Tera Baap". Yash Raj Films has roped in Greg Cannon to develop the look of the superstar for 'Fan'. The movie, directed by 'Band Baaja Baarat' director Maneesh Sharma, will see SRK playing the role of a fan. In the 15 videos that SRK posted, he is seen giving his audience a tour of the sets and all this while, the director Maneesh remains in hiding. You can watch all the videos on SRK's official Facebook page. After trying this tool, SRK, while still having his make up done, did a Twitter chat with his fans. And as usual, was at his wittiest best. When one of the Twitter users asked him to make a "sensible movie", SRK was all wits as he replied:

A live Facebook 'thingy' and Twitter chat while being stuck in traffic and getting make up done! Now we know why everybody loves SRK. Well, so do we.
