SRK vows to fight cause of Delhi gangrape victim

"I am so sorry that I am a part of this society and culture. I am so sorry that I am a man. I promise I will fight with your voice," said superstar Shah Rukh Khan as he joined other Bollywood personalities to mourn the death of 23-year-old gangrape victim today.

The victim was taken to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for further treatment after her condition deteriorated. She was being treated at Delhi's Safdarjang Hospital after being brutally assaulted on the night of 16 December in South Delhi.

"We couldn't save u but wot a big voice u have, u brave little girl. That voice is telling us that rape is not an aberration, not a mistake. Rape embodies sexuality as our culture & society has defined it.

"I am so sorry that I am a part of this society and culture. I am so sorry that I am a man. I promise I will fight with ur voice. I will respect women, so that I gain my daughter's respect (sic)," said SRK, 47, who is father of son Aryan and 12-year-old daughter Suhana.

The heinous incident has triggered nationwide outrage with people taking to streets to demand death penalty for the criminals and better safety laws for women.

Coming up in 2013, an all new Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan apparently wants to let bygones be bygones and usher 2013 on a new footing
It appears that Shah Rukh Khan is keen to rebuild Brand SRK in the New Year. The turn of the year seems to be heralding a spanking new image for King Khan. The star apparently wants to let bygones be bygones and usher 2013 on a new footing. There were indications that the scenario was changing for quite a while. And now the picture is getting clearer.

For starters, SRK has acquired a new publicist who has been filling our in-boxes with updates about the star from his trip to the Marrakech film festival to his reaping accolades at a recent film awards show. There are snapshots along with a brief of what he has been up to. This definitely came as a surprise but it looks like there is a need to streamline and provide information about him.

B-Town has this penchant to work in camps. But SRK broke the rules when he agreed to work with Katrina Kaif, the ex-girlfriend of his nemesis Salman Khan. His decision to act in director Rohit Shetty's film- a name synonymous with Ajay Devgn- another bete noire of SRK, too proves that professionally his brand wants to work with the big names in the industry.

Karan Johar, of late, has been bonding with the other Khan big time. With whispers about SRK and his best buddy KJo's bonding not exactly being the way it was, King Khan seems to be forging new bonds.

The year that was 2012 began on a sticky situation when he had an alleged altercation with director Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt's bash for Agneepath in January-end. In May came his infamous squabble with the security officials at the Wankhede Stadium. Then there were also reports about his extra close bonding with Priyanka Chopra.

Shah Rukh's kiss story: 'JTHJ' demanded it!

Shah Rukh Khan had made a rule for himself - never kiss on screen, but he has made an exception for Yash Chopra's " Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (JTHJ). The superstar says he was "forced" to kiss this time, and says it was only a demand of the script.

"I had a couple of rules actually - that I won't ride a horse and I won't kiss. Both are cumbersome. I don't know how to do both on screen," Shah Rukh said.

Ever since the release of Yash Chopra's directorial JTHJ Tuesday, social networking platforms have been abuzz about the kiss scene between Shah Rukh and Katrina Kaif. So, moderator Vir Sanghvi, on behalf of Twitterati, asked SRK: How come he kissed this time!

"I will be very honest. Adi ( Aditya Chopra), Yash ji and Katrina, and I say this with all humility and thankfulness to them, that they knew I was awkward, I had issues and I am a very easy actor to work with. They are like my family and they said, 'You don't have to do this' and then they got together and they forced me and then even paid me for it."

"So... when heroines say that 'I wore a bikini because the story demanded me to', I did it (the kiss) because the story demanded it. Believe me or don't believe it," said the 47-year-old actor, who has been in showbiz for over two decades.

Shah Rukh feels doing something as intimate as a kiss on screen, is mechanical.

"It is very mechanical with 100 people telling you what to do. It's very odd. I don't even do photoshoots with heroines if it is not for my film and that is also rude, but I don't want to waste anyone's time. I find it very awkward taking my shirt off and posing. I can do it in character for film," he said.

But JTHJ was "extremely special because of Yash ji".

"He spoke to everyone and he said 'Shah Rukh, this is a requirement'," recollected Shah Rukh.

The actor was extremely close to the late filmmaker, who breathed his last Oct 21 following dengue and subsequent multi-organ failure.

'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' Overseas Box Office Collection; Day One Result

Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited film "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" was released in India and several other countries on Tuesday but its overseas box office collection is not up to the expectations, as a midweek release seems to have affected the business.

"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" was released in about 2,500 screens worldwide on Tuesday, on the occasion of Diwali festival.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted that "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" collected A$ 77,334 (Rs 44.39 lakh) from 24 locations in Australia on the first day (Tuesday). He added that it earned £ 34,623 (Rs 30.21 lakh) from 25 locations in United Kingdom.

"#JTHJ opens to a fabulous response in UAE. Collects $ 325,000 on Tue," tweeted Taran, adding, "#JTHJ takes Singapore by storm. Collects S$ 96,000 on Tue."

The domestic box office collection of the film is expected to be huge, as a Diwali release with a superstar in the lead role is very unlikely to fail.

"PLEASE NOTE: #JTHJ and #SOS *India numbers* will be updated soon. Due to Diwali festivities, will take some time to get the *est* numbers," tweeted Taran Adarsh. "#JTHJ and #SOS Tuesday results in India: In mass circuits, #SOS is ahead. At multiplexes, #JTHJ takes a lead."

He went on to say that both "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and "Son of Sardaar" will win at the box office.

"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" has Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. It is Katrina's first film with King Khan since she entered Bollywood in 2003 with "Boom".

Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner, this romantic film marks the return of Yash Chopra as a director after a gap of eight years. The director passed away last month, just a few weeks before its release.

Romance about comfort, not chemistry: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is considered the king of romance in Bollywood, but unlike many who believe that romancing on screen is about chemistry, the superstar says it is all about comfort. The 47-year-old, who has delivered hit romantic movies with actresses like Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor, says romance is more than just songs.

"Romance is not just about songs. Comfort is needed when you do romantic films. For me it's not about chemistry, it's about comfort. It's really difficult to look into a girl's eyes and say I love you and then say the same thing to another girl," Shah Rukh said at a press conference here Sunday.

"When you get a chance to romance such beautiful girls, then work becomes easy," he added. In his latest film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, releasing on tuesday, Shah Rukh will be seen with two leading ladies - Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The movie, directed by late filmmaker Yash Chopra, is said to be a love triangle.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Review

Akira (Anushka Sharma) is a spunky student out for a project in Ladakh when she chances upon the story of Indian army's bomb disposal officer Samar (Shah Rukh Khan) and decides to make a documentary on him: The Man Who Cannot Die.

The story goes into flashback mode as we learn about Samar's lost love. A hard working chap in London, Samar worked a couple of jobs to make ends meet but always looked at the brighter side of things. A chance meeting with the rich heiress Meera (Katrina Kaif) changes both their lives. While Meera wants Punjabi singing lessons from him, Samar barters it for English lessons from her. Soon, the two fall in love, though Meera is betrothed to someone else.

On the other side of the timeline, Samar is now a bitter, reticent army officer who doesn't even bother with a bomb suit while defusing explosives. Akira finds herself increasingly drawn to Samar and even he thaws a bit.

But why did Samar and Meera part ways? Will they meet again? And does Akira have a chance with Samar?

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Review (Jab Tak Hai Jaan Movie Stills)

Shah Rukh Khan And Katrina Kaif (Jab Tak Hai Jaan Movie Stills)

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Review: Script Analysis

Devika Bhagat and Aditya Chopra's screenplay manages to strike some wonderful romantic chords. Aditya Chopra has penned some really lovely dialogues. His story though, is not as flawless. While the love, romance and amorous feeling are beautifully conveyed, you feel more frustration than pity at Meera's pacts with "Sir Jesus". Neetu Kapoor's love story may sound romantic, but it doesn't make much sense.

Coming to the climax. There's no way to put it kindly: it is just terribly long. Watching paint dry would make more interesting activity and you just want to get the heck over with it.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Review: Star Performances

The best performance of Shah Rukh Khan in the movie is when he has joined the army. As lover boy Samar, he's just hamming it. Katrina Kaif does well as Meera but falls short in quite a few places. Anushka Sharma is darn good and your heart goes out for the kid Akira. Neetu and Rishi Kapoor are cute in their guest appearance. Anupam Kher has very little to do as Meera's father.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Review: Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

It would be very difficult to not view this film without knowing that it's the last by Yash Chopra and letting it colour your view a bit. But the auteur mesmerizes you with two love stories and gets to root for each of them. If only he had managed to trim the climax, the film would have really stood out. But, alas.

The picturesque Ladakh, Kashmir and London attest Anil Mehta's cinematography. Rahman's music is very good, though not as memorable as some of his earlier songs might have been. The music in Shah Rukh's entry sequences are power-packed. Namrata Rao's editing is good.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan Review: The Last Word

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is worth a watch, and that's not just to pay your last respects to the legend Yash Chopra. It's a movie that puts the mushy, filmy craziness back in love stories.

Anupama Chopra's review: Jab Tak Hai Jaan

In what world would a beautiful, fabulously rich girl who cruises around London in a chauffer-driven Bentley fall in love with a waiter? In Yash Chopra's world, of course!

It helps enormously that the waiter is played by Shah Rukh Khan with charm turned on high-beam. In any case, you don't go to a Yash Chopra movie to delve into realism or the messiness of relationships. You go to partake in a fantasy of swooning, idealised love - and Jab Tak Hai Jaan delivers plenty of that.

This film has all the elements you would want in a Yash Chopra film - gorgeously shot locations in the UK and Kashmir, lavish songs and three inherently noble lead characters who struggle gallantly against their individual obligations.

But what Jab Tak Hai Jaan does not have is a coherent plot. Through a series of unconvincing story twists, the waiter becomes a major in the army - a bomb-disposal expert, no less.

We first meet Samar Anand as he is about to defuse his 98th bomb. He does this without any protection and has therefore been dubbed the man who cannot die.

Another girl, a feisty filmmaker named Akira (played by Anushka Sharma), comes into his life, but another series of clumsy plot twists then takes him back to London, where his first love (played by Katrina Kaif), waits.

The story by Aditya Chopra is grossly over-written and borderline ridiculous. At one point, when Akira is looking for the major, she is told, 'Sir goes for quiet time after defusing a bomb.' The major is sitting by the river, singing loudly.

The Hurt Locker this certainly isn't. And yet, despite the wobbly narrative, Jab Tak Hai Jaan works as an ode to epic romance. I didn't buy into the story, but I bought into the heartfelt performances.

All three - Shah Rukh, Katrina and Anushka - are top-notch. And ladies, take note: Shah Rukh is easily Hindi cinema's most dashing army officer since Balraj Sahni in Haqeeqat, and with this film, he finally breaks his no-kissing rule.

You also have to admire his ability to play the romantic hero. We've seen him do it for two decades but he still makes it compelling.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is too tangled to transport you. At almost 180 minutes, it also requires enormous patience. But I recommend that you see it. Because only Yash Chopra could make heartache so attractive and ennobling that his characters wear it like a badge of honor.

Recalling the time spent with the late director Yash Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan said that he had lost a father figure. The actor spoke at the veteran director's Chautha ceremony held at Yash Raj Studios yesterday.

"I'm happy that he had a painless death in his sleep. I'm sure Allah miya wanted some entertainment and he took Yashji from us. I'm happy now, the people back in heaven will get to see some good cinema and chiffon saris," said SRK.

A Part Of Yashji Will Always Be With Me: SRK

MUMBAI: The sudden demise of veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra has left superstar Shah Rukh Khan bereaved. He describes it as a personal loss, and says he will always keep a part of the filmmaker in his heart.

Chopra breathed his last due to a multi-organ failure here Sunday evening. He was 80.

"Whenever my loved ones depart, I feel a part of me extinguishes itself with them. Will there come a day that I will no longer have a bit of myself to let go of? And then the thought follows … that every time they have taken some of me with them onto their last journey, I have found a fragment of them left inside me too.

"I will always have some love to give and I will always be both emptied and replenished by the loved ones I lose. I keep u with me Yashji and I miss u too Yashji … lots," SRK posted on his Facebook page.

SRK was special for Chopra, who directed the actor in movies like "Darr" (1993), "Dil To Pagal Hai" (1997) and "Veer-Zaara" (2004). Chopra's last directorial "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", which will hit the screens Nov 13, also features Shah Rukh.

The actor was like family to him – sharing the joys and sorrows. No wonder he rushed to the Lilavati Hospital as soon as the news of Chopra's death was announced.

In fact, SRK also chose to leave his car and sit in the same vehicle which transported Chopra's body from the hospital to the filmmaker's residence.

The actor had a warm conversation with Chopra on the latter's 80th birthday in September.

'My perception about love hasn’t changed'

Shah Rukh Khan says his perception about love has not
changed over the years. "A relationship is between two
people and it is a very personal experience. When you
are in love, you have to be yourself. My perception of love
has not changed over the years," said Shah Rukh.
"I feel we lose out on love when we start looking at bigger things. I
think in love,
simple things matter, like listening. I think girls know better how to
love than men,"
he said.
He claimed he is also in love with the whole idea of on-screen
romance. "I fall in
love with the story idea and the belief of love in it. I like the
whole idea of the love

SRK to be a trademark!

The actor has sent an application to the Trade Mark Registry that his often-used initials not be used without his permission

Shah Rukh Khan is a brand by himself. And very soon his often-used initials - SRK may become a very valuable property. TOI found out that the actor has recently applied for a trademark on his name SRK at the Delhi office of the Trade Mark Registry. However, he has not received a final confirmation on it yet. According to the rules, once his trademark SRK is published in the Indian Trademark Journal, anybody who has an objection can file a notice within three months.

Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar had applied for the same, to trademark his name SRT, earlier this year. In fact, we had told you how when Vidhu Vinod Chopra needed to use the cricketer's name in his film Ferrarri Ki Sawaari, he had to seek Sachin's permission.

In the West, getting a trademark on one's name isn't uncommon. In fact, Roger Federer, Michael Jordon and Jennifer Lopez are among some of the names that have been trademarked in the past.

And now, SRK is ready to add his name to the list. A source close to the actor told TOI, "SRK has become bigger with every project. He has taken this decision after a lot of thought. Career wise, it is a great decision to safeguard his brand." Interestingly, the application submitted by the actor to the Trade Mark Registry (of which, TOI has a copy) bars several industries from using his name. For example, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, water and even other non-alcoholic drinks can't use the actor's name. The same goes for fresh fruits, vegetables, salt, mustard so on and so forth.

JTHJ: Yash Chopa to direct last-ever scene, plans are to make it big

Yash Chopra prepares to say goodbye to direction with Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ), his assistant directors (who have worked with him for years) are busy designing a spectacular souvenir for the king of romance. They want this to be their special gift to their mentor.

The unit of the film will soon head to Switzerland to shoot the only remaining song - a romantic number with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif - with Chopra behind the camera. Says a source from the film's set, "Adi (Aditya Chopra), who is an assistant director on the film, along with the other ADs, came up with the idea of making the last shot magnificent. To make it stand out, they've decided to use multiple cameras and shoot from various angles, giving it a multi-dimensional feel. Yashji is a living legend, and obviously, his last shot has to be a huge moment."

Katrina, who is in Chicago, USA, isn't aware of the development yet, but she says whatever the plans are, she is lucky and privileged to be part of the film. "This movie will always be special as it is Yashji's last direction. I truly feel lucky that he gave me a chance to be part of his rich history. Like I've said earlier, your CV is not complete unless you've worked with Yashji. He takes romance to a different level!"

Son Adi, however, will give this special trip a miss due to other commitments in Mumbai. "It's a special moment for the unit. We're planning to shoot it in a grand way to be able to freeze that moment for posterity," says the spokesperson of JTHJ. The 80-year-old director wielded the megaphone after a gap of eight years for this film. And then, he decided to hang up his boots and mentor budding directors.

Yash Chopra started his journey in the film industry as an assistant to IS Johar and then joined his brother BR Chopra, who was a director-producer at the time. In 1959, he made his directorial debut with Dhool Ka Phool.

Shahrukh: I'm loving Manchester!

Shahrukh: I'm loving Manchester!

The King of Bollywood himself Shahrukh Khan received a royal welcome to Manchester last night. Arif Asif and Neetal Parekh report.

The city left an impression on the superstar who said he was overwhelmed by the response.

The event was featured live via our Twitter Feed and here on the Asian Image website with exclusive updates.

Amidst what were at times chaotic scenes a host of celebrities attended the event held at the Davenport Green Hall which is based on the outskirts of the city.  And whilst fans had to wait untill after 10pm for him to make an appearance, he certainly didn't disappoint when he took to the stage.

People were standing on chairs, with others on their friend's shoulders just to get a glimpse of the star.

It simply was too much to handle for some fans who found being in the presence of a Bollywood superstar overwhelming. Several fans could not hold back their tears and simply broke down at the sight of him!

The evening organised by Lockdown Promotions was opened by the talented and exhilarating Sonash sisters who were followed by Imran Khan, H-Dhami, Kiran Dhanoa, and Abbas Hassan. It finished off with a colourful yet elegant fashion show.

DJ Fritz and his supreme dream team provided the perfect blend of music as guests arrived in what was a stunning venue.

Famous faces attending on the night included, England Cricketer Sajid Mahmood, ex Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell and Adam Woodyatt of Eastenders better known as Ian Beale.

As well as posing for pictures with fans, Shahrukh took part in a question and answer session with the crowd.

Some Bollywood stars we have reported on in the past have seemed a little aloof. But Shahrukh was out to make the audience feel right at home from the very start.

He seemed fairly relaxed and was keen to play along with as many of the requests coming his way. For a moment some of us forgot this was one of the most famous faces on the planet.

After talking about his love for the UK and upcoming movie projects he revealed his   fondness for Manchester United and cheekily taunted rivals City.

He went on to talk about how football should be promoted in the sub-continent and that he is thinking of performing a more comic role in the near future.

The more humorous elements of the night were provided thanks to some very enthusiastic fans who had messages recorded for their loved ones.

Shahrukh, sung 'tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam' from his hit movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and some lucky ladies requested him to perform and substitute their names into his film dialogues.

Yousaf Khan, 21 of Leeds said, "I can't believe 'the king' came to Manchester, we feel so lucky and honoured".

Joan who had travelled all the way from Birmingham added, "Sharukh is the epitome of acting, dancing and creativity. He enriches and represents the Indian culture like no other."

Sana Mahmood from Birmingham said, "Shahrukh made hundreds of peoples dream come true!! He interacted with all his fans and even blew me a kiss. I just love SRK."

Whilst there were moments the event was getting out of hand (much to do with over-emotional fans!) many in the crowds were simply happy to catch a glimpse of the Bhadshah of Bollywood

'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' trailer goes viral on web

This one truly carries the Yash Chopra stamp! Picturesque locales, intense poetry, enviable costumes, Shah Rukh Khan's dimpled cheeks, his passionate lover avatar, teamed with Katrina Kaif's flawless beauty, and Anushka Sharma's effervescence -- the trailer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan regales with all this, and leaves fans guessing what's in store.

The trailer, released online at 1 p.m. Thursday, was viewed by over 2,30,000 views on YouTube within two hours.

"It looks like the movie of the decade is coming... oh tiger; King is back... and that also with a bang," a fan named Ravi posted on the trailer's link.

Shah Rukh plays an army man named Samar in the film. He looks dapper as usual, but it is undoubtedly his loverboy smile that leaves the endearing touch. Add to that Katrina's chic looks and Anushka's bubbly, cheerful and energy-packed demeanour -- the film surely looks inviting, and expects to bring audiences to theatres in huge numbers upon its release Nov 13.

The trailer opens with Shah Rukh dressed in an army man's uniform, riding a bike in the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh. And Gulzar's deep poetry adds to the beauty of the backdrop.

Scenes of Katrina in floral gowns and Shah Rukh's intense gaze at her on London's streets give the touch of romance, as do his parts with Anushka amid the scenic beauty of Kashmir.

There is drama, love, passion and the trailer hints at a sense of vengeance in Shah Rukh's character, who walks amid random bombings towards the end. It looks like a case of a classic love triangle, but leaves a lot more to guess.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is special for many reasons -- it marks the return of Yash Chopra to direction after seven years after Veer-Zaara, Shah Rukh's trademark romantic avatar, and it has Gulzar's inimitable poetry, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman's melodies and shots from Kashmir.

Now after some exclusive coverage in last few weeks, we bring you some exclusive stuff on 1stpromo.

Film's promo has been kept close guarded and secret keeping in mind curiosity level among fans. Film's trailer has voice over in form of some real philosophical cum romantic lines from the film. Shahrukh will appear in never seen cool look with some really expressive eyes with a mind blowing song playing in background.

We are not here to spoil the fun especially as we don't know what our sources saw is a footage or trailer itself as trailer will be ready by 21st September. You will also get to see SRK driving in Laddakh and some stunt or montages of stunts happening there. Anushka gives some her typical "Band Baaja Baraat" type fast dialogue delivery. Katrina Kaif sees "something" and another songs break in female voice(which mind you is EVEN better than previous one). Shahrukh suddenly mouths some real cool couple of lines before something "crucial" happens and trailer ends before montage of few supporting cast.

Film's trailer and songs are ready to be out next week tentatively on 27th and already there are two promos have been cut so it is tough to guess which one they will be unveiling first. Length of uncut promo was 2 minutes plus approximately.

As per the sources, film has some real dramatic, intense but musical 2nd half and film will be a huge blockbuster written all over it as many trusted sources already saying it Shahrukh's best work in a romantic role till date.

If we get to know more about final promo in couple of days, we will be back otherwise wait for a week and we all enjoy one of the most romantic film unfolding before us.

No star would've agreed for 'Vicky Donor': Shoojit Sircar

There was a reason why director Shoojit Sircar decided to rope in fresh actors for "Vicky Donor". He says he roped in Ayushmann Khurrana for "Vicky Donor" after a "star" refused to be a part of the film, which turned out to be a sleeper hit.

"The storyline was very unconventional and when I approached a star with the script, he liked it, but had some apprehensions about it and after that I realised that no star would agree to do this film," Sircar said.

"It was then that I decided, I shall have a complete fresh cast and crew for this film," Sircar said at a talk at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai.

The film, based on sperm donation, also featured newcomer Yami Gautam.

"Ayushmann was an easy pick but we auditioned a lot for the female lead," said Sircar.

"I run a theatre group in Delhi called Act1 and Ayushmann and Yami were trained in acting there for three months and I also took workshops with them for 15 days," he added.

No one can beat SRK in romance, says Karan

Mumbai: Karan Johar, who created magic by teaming up with friend and superstar Shah Rukh Khan in hits like `Kuch Kuch Hota Hai` and `Kal Ho Na Ho`, feels that SRK is the ultimate king of romance and no one can beat him in that space.

"I think no one can beat Shah Rukh in romance, he owns that space. If and when I am challenged to write a love story which I feel I can justify, I will definitely make it. Right now, I don`t know if there is enough of me to make another love story," Karan told PTI in an interview.

With `Kuch Kuch Hota Hai` (1998) Karan attempted a love story between three college students (Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee). In 2003 super hit film `Kal Ho Na Ho`, Karan again formed a love triangle between terminally ill Shah Rukh, an uptight student Priety Zinta and her friend Saif Ali Khan. While with `Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna` he explored the side of adultery and extramarital affair.

Karan hopes to make an unusual love story yet again and hopefully with Shah Rukh.

"There are so many love stories that are being made. I feel I should have something unusual about the love story for me to tell through the film. And working with Shah Rukh is always great. I hope and pray that I should come up with films that would justify his tremendous star presence," he said.

Shah Rukh is now back to woo his fans once again with a romantic film with Yash Chopra`s `Jab Tak Hai Jaan`.

The romantic drama, directed by Yash Chopra, written and produced by Aditya Chopra, stars Shah Rukh, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead.

"Shah Rukh is doing Yashji`s film after a gap. I can`t wait to see `Jab Tak Hai Jaan`. Its a film by Yash uncle, coupled with Shah Rukh`s romance with Katrina and Anushka. It will be spectacular," Karan said.

Karan tasted success this year with the remake version of

`Agneepath` that had Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. It retold the 1990 film of the same name and was directed by Karan Johar`s former assistant Karan Malhotra.

Through this film, Karan paid a tribute to his father Yash Johar, the producer of the original.

"I believed in `Agneepath`. I have grown up watching Hindi films, so I like film drama. In case of `Agneepath`, I liked the drama, emotional violence and I believed in Karan Malhotra. I am glad I made this film. It was the only film of my father that I wanted to remake," he said.

The 1990 original film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Danny Denzongpa, Madhavi in the lead did not do well at the box office. But the remake version which released this year in January was a huge hit.

"I felt this film broke my father`s heart when it did not run and he felt very dejected. But I am sure wherever he is in the universe he will be very proud that we got it right," Karan said.

Meanwhile, Karan is kicked about yet another reality show `India`s Got Talent`. He will be judging the show alongside Kirron Kher, Maliaka Arora Khan and Farah Khan.

"This show happened as I was doing `Jhalak Dikhla Jaa`. I have loved watching this show. Ironically I was offered the first season but I couldn`t make it then. So I was fourth time lucky to be part of the show. There are so many talented people and they come with so many contestants from different parts of the country," he said. (MORE) PTI

We got see different art forms, different dance forms and various other things. It is the human story that moved me as there are people who leave their jobs for the passion of their craft and art, it is fascinating and heartening. I am happy that I did the show. I got a lot from the show than I contributed to it," he said.

Well, Karan revealed that he was moved by a three-year-old boy who was drumming.

"This child was drumming like a rockstar. I went on stage to see if he is actually doing it himself or not. He is just awesome," he said.

As the show, `India`s Got Talent` is all about showcasing what you are best at, Karan feels he only has the talent of making films.

"I have no talent barring being a director and producer. That I feel this is my only talent. I can`t sing, I can`t dance.. I can`t do anything. I don`t have great talent I can`t write poetry all I can do is make films. But I wish I could sing," he said.

The show will go on air from September 22, every Saturday and Sunday at 10 pm on Colors channel.
