Shah Rukh Khan to have 3 releases in 12 months

Embedded image permalink

For someone who is generally seen in only one movie a year (and very rarely in two a year), Shah Rukh Khan would have quite a few goodies to offer his fans in 2014-2015. In a span of 12 months, he would be bringing on 'Happy New Year', 'Fan' and 'Raees'.

"That's true," confirms a source, "While 'Happy New Year' is being planned for Diwali 2014 release (October), 'Raees' has picked Eid 2015 (September) as its arrival. In the interim period, his 'Fan' would release as well. Rumours of a Christmas 2014 release have already started floating around."

This is a rare scenario as it was way back in 2006-2007 when something like this had occurred.

"At that time, Shah Rukh Khan was seen in four films in 15 months time period, what with 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna', 'Don', 'Chak De! India' and 'Om Shanti Om' arriving in quick succession between August 2007 and November 2007. Ever since then, he has slowed down," an insider adds.

While he was consumed with the making of 'Ra.One' for the longest duration, his last biggie 'Chennai Express' too was in the making for long. However, Shahrukh is pretty much making for the lost time by giving a go ahead to multiple films.

Gratitude is attitude: Shah Rukh Khan's 'borrowed' advice

New Delhi:  Shah Rukh Khan won laughter and cheers with his quips and constant reminders to himself that he most appropriate things as he was named one of NDTV's Greatest Global Living Indians at the Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening.

The unstoppable Living Legend, wearing a ponytail, shared that he had been forbidden to do the Lungi Dance.

His advice: "gratitude is attitude," borrowed, he said, from the Internet.

Also, "don't try to be someone else. There will always be someone taller, better looking, with better six packs. But be yourself because everyone else is taken."

His third advice, told to him, he said, by "someone on this stage who is very tall and has a baritone": "Before you enter a public space, make sure your zip is not undone."

Amitabh Bachchan joined in the laughter.

When Delhi's notorious traffic played villain to Shah Rukh Khan

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan ran up on stage halfway into the discussion on Indian Cinema at NDTV's Solutions Summit, bowed to the audience and his co-panelists, apologised and said: "I think globalisation of Indian cinema should start with actors coming on time."

He was greeted with cheers, claps and whistles.

Mr Khan was prevented from reaching on time for his session - Desi Cinema goes Global - by Delhi's notorious traffic.

Amitabh Bachchan had wanted to wait for Shah Rukh Khan, but the discussion had to begin without the star.

Backstage, Mr Bachchan talked to Mr Khan on the phone.

When SRK arrived, Amitabh Bachchan said, "Our main speaker is here. I think he should be asked all these questions."

Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, AR Rahman and Shah Rukh Khan engaged in an intense discussion on what keeps their industry from competing globally.

Mr Bachchan and later Mr Khan injected periodic levity with one-liners and pithy observations. The end of the session saw a thrilling finale to the Solutions Summit - Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Waheeda Rehman danced to AR Rahman's Oscar winner Jai Ho. It doesn't get bigger than that.

Shahrukh Khan to have a studio named after himself?

Shahrukh Khan is ready to venture a little more of his business mind. The actor who achieved success as an IPL team owner and owns Red Chillies VFX company, which also happens to be one of the best SFX (special effects) companies is ready to expand. As per the latest buzz, SRK has bought Essel Studios at Trombay. While there is no formal announcement from SRK's side, one hears that the popular studio will be renamed soon. Apparently Khan has started the renovation work on this studio.

Like the famous RK Studios in Chembur, will we soon have an SRK Studio in Trombay? We're waiting to get more goss on this one. And we wouldn't mind a tour of this studio either, considering that it's King Khan's property and his penchant for larger than life sites. Will it resemble the Om Shanti Om sets, what do you think BollywoodLifers?

Shah Rukh Khan: I am fit enough to do action film again

Shah Rukh Khan: I am fit enough to do action film again
PTI : Mumbai | Mon Dec 09 2013, 18:36 hrs
Shahrukhkhan
Shah Rukh Khan was injured while shooting for 'Chenani Express'.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says that though he has been grappling with injury problems, he is fit enough to do an action film.

"When I was doing 'Chenani Express' I was injured, but I did it. It hurts a little, troubles you a bit, you need to be careful. If I am offered an action film, I will do it. There is no big deal about it. I am fit enough to do an action film again," Shah Rukh said here yesterday.

In pics: Shah Rukh Khan at a fitness book launch

"I never wanted to be muscular. Everybody has a body type. I have nice, lean long muscles. I am happy with them. I don't like to show off. By March I need to be thin, I want to do it. I am working out everyday. I want to be fit," he said.

The Bollywood superstar was speaking at the launch of Deanne Panday's fitness book 'Shut Up and Train'. "The book has strong message -- don't look for excuses to not work out, start training. Like I finish shooting at 10 or 11 pm, I come home, put the kids to sleep, have dinner, spend time with family. And then at 2.30-3 AM I work out. My trainer pushes me to keep training whenever I get time, but (do it) everyday," he added.

Due to the number of injuries SRK has suffered, he does find difficulty while doing some sort of exercises.

"I can't do over head and shoulder exercise at all. Because of my spinal injury, I can't do a lot of things. I used to love doing pull ups, but I now can hardly do three-four. I can't do exercise with bars. As soon as I stretch my arms, I can't balance things. I can't lift too much weight," he said.

The actor finds time to work out even when he is travelling.

"Whenever we travel if we are in hotel there is gym. But if it is not there, then we create club house and have work out related stuff. I request my trainer to come with me. Almost 80 to 90 per cent of people in film industry across all departments want to stay fit and do workout," he said.

SRK loves fellow actors Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar in terms of their physique and fitness.

"I don't envy anyone's body, but appreciate a lot of Hrithik, John Abraham, Ranveer Singh and Farhan. They are friends and very inspiring. They have worked hard for it. It is an amazing achievement. Among the ladies Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu have good body," he added.

SRK feels Aamir Khan has got the "best body" for his upcoming film 'Dhoom: 3' and that he would love to do a film like that if offered.

Shah Rukh does feel he has got quite a few bad habits including smoking which he finds "awful" and would like to give it up completely.

"Besides smoking, my sleeping pattern is wrong. Though I sleep late, I ensure I get a good sleep. My eating habits are not right because of the work and the way I work. My list of bad habits will go on... there can be a book on it," he chuckled.

Shah Rukh Khan: AbRam has got dimples like me

Bollywood supertstar and father of three, Shah Rukh Khan said his newborn son AbRam has got dimples like him.

Shah Rukh Khan, 48 recently became a father of AbRam, born through surrogacy.

"AbRam is very much healthy. He is a good-looking baby and has got dimples," Shah Rukh Khan told reporters at a conclave hosted by a new channel in New Delhi.

SRK said that he and Gauri decided to go for a third child because their teenage children Aryan and Suhana were busy with their friends.

"I and Gauri (wife) decided to go for a third child because we were missing the childhood of our kids. My son is 16 and daughter is 13 and they always lock themselves up in their room with their friends. AbRam, Gauri and Shah Rukh's third child, was born through a surrogate mother in May this year.
