FEEL THE LOVE WITH ‘GERUA’, DILWALE ISHTYLE - Press Release

FEEL THE LOVE WITH 'GERUA', DILWALE ISHTYLE

Wednesday, 18th November 2015: Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd and Rohit Shetty Productions presented the love anthem of the year 'Gerua' from their upcoming film Dilwale at a gala event at Maratha Mandir in Mumbai. Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan were present at the do along with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. Gerua is featured on the iconic couple of Kajol-SRK in the film and has been sung by Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra. The lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

The evening began with Varun and Kriti performing to Gerua trying to reprise the legendary romantic pose of Kajol-SRK. Then they invited the evergreen on-screen couple on stage to teach the exact steps and the song was released to the audience comprising of media and fans.

Rohit Shetty said, "When you shoot with a couple who has been synonymous with romance on the big screen of our times, a director has an added responsibility of enhancing the grandeur that they carry. Iceland was the perfect location for Gerua, where every locale is untouched and does justice to not only the song but SRK and Kajol as well. Pritam has given a melody which will be hummed by every age and Arijit and Antara have sung the song with perfection. Gerua will take romance to another level."

Shah Rukh Khan said "Since Kajol and I are coming back together on-screen after years, Rohit felt that we should try and make Gerua stand out better than all the other songs we have done earlier. We have done many beautiful songs and are really fortunate to have done those. But Rohit was very clear and precise about how he would like to shoot this one. He paid attention to every detail starting from choice of location, costumes and every other technicality because it was essential to him."

Speaking on how different Gerua would be from their earlier tracks, he further added "It's all about the old world charm of Kajol and I but presented in a manner that is very much like Rohit Shetty. Shooting for the song was extremely difficult. It was cold and we could barely walk but Rohit made everything easy. He has made so many efforts which would possibly never be known except in the making video. When you have such a director who is always eager to help, the actors feel much at ease and eventually the song also turns out fabulous."

Kajol said, "We shot the song in a start to finish schedule of 7 days. We worked really hard and it was severe cold but had a great time in all as the song itself is so good that we enjoyed performing. I am sure the audiences will also find it magical once they see it on-screen".

Pritam said, "This film has been extremely special for me as it is the first time I have composed for SRK. I have always mentioned to him how I really wanted to work with him before I retire. I feel happy and fortunate to have been given this opportunity to create a romantic song for SRK and Kajol, the greatest on-screen couple of our era. It was a big challenge and responsibility and I hope Gerua lives upto it."

Venky Mysore, CEO, RCE said, "It is our privilege to present the world with the first song of Dilwale and what better can it be than a love song. SRK and Kajol have been lighting up the big screen for years and each time we get mesmerized with their presence. Gerua is a song for every age with Pritam's classic melody and Arijit's poignant voice."

Shridhar Subramaniam, President, Sony Music India and Middle East said ''Gerua is the epitome of romance with the lyrics adding to the charm of the song that will get every person want to embrace his/her loved one. Shah Rukh and Kajol look stunning and this is just a glimpse of what the music of this romantic magnum opus sounds like. Every week will be a musical revelation that will have fans wanting for more."

Dilwale is a family entertainer with a perfect blend of action, romance and comedy. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainments in association with Rohit Shetty Productions and the music is composed by Pritam. It will release on 18th December, 2015.

While on his way, amidst a crawling traffic and on the sets of his upcoming movie 'Fan', SRK obliged the millions of his fans by using this tool, though amidst a lot of network issues and outage. But who's complaining, when you have a dekko of what makes a particular day in SRK's life? So, while SRK, in his most adorable and witty avatar, introduced his audience to his teams – make up, set design and technical, he also made Greg Cannom, the Oscar winner make up artiste, mouth the lines, "Buddha Hoga Tera Baap". Yash Raj Films has roped in Greg Cannon to develop the look of the superstar for 'Fan'. The movie, directed by 'Band Baaja Baarat' director Maneesh Sharma, will see SRK playing the role of a fan. In the 15 videos that SRK posted, he is seen giving his audience a tour of the sets and all this while, the director Maneesh remains in hiding. And as usual, was at his wittiest best. When one of the Twitter users asked him to make a "sensible movie", SRK was all wits as he replied:

A live Facebook 'thingy' and Twitter chat while being stuck in traffic and getting make up done! Now we know why everybody loves SRK. Well, so do we.

Aww! Cutey AbRam cheers for KKR as nervous dad SRK looks on

Look who was spotted in the stands cheering for daddy dearest's IPL team? It is none other than adorable AbRam. The expressions while AbRam watches his first IPL match with Shah Rukh is just going to make you go aww!

Following Daddy's footsteps, AbRam hoots for team Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens tonight. KKR is the defending champions and it was actually expected that SRK would be seen cheering in the stands. But when SRK got cutie-pie AbRam in tow, we couldn't help but adore these two

Whenever SRK was present for a KKR match, the team had won it and he was rightfully called the magic charm for KKR. And when now Shah Rukh's lucky charm AbRam supports KKR at Eden, chances have doubled that KKR wouldn't lose this one to Mumbai Indians.

Some of the pictures are adorable as hell! We bet you'd be "awwing" most for most of the pics.

Shahrukh Khan follows Croatia’s filming incentives to shoot Dubrovnik

Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan will be in Croatia this week filming scenes for his new movie Fan. The production will use Croatia's filming incentives to spend nine days shooting in Dubrovnik, before relocating to London.

Fan will spend EUR 1.1 million in Dubrovnik and will get a rebate of EUR 200,000 through Croatia's 20% filming incentive.

"We prefer locations where we can get an incentive to offset our costs," said Aashish Singh, an executive producer with production company Yash Raj Films (YRF).

"Having a filming incentive sends a signal to the producers that the country/state is serious about filmmaking and will co-operate to make filming easy and successful."

The production was also attracted by Dubrovnik's unique visuals and the film will shoot largely in the historic Old City, featuring Dubrovnik as itself.

"Croatia is an untapped beautiful location and the creative team loved the look and feel of Dubrovnik," Singh added: "We did a lot of research on cities in Europe that have not been seen in a lot of Indian films and then shortlisted a few before taking a final decision of shooting in Dubrovnik."

"We are excited at the opportunity to gain insight into the workings of Bollywood, one of the world's largest film industries," commented Boris Dmitrović of service company Formula Film: "especially given the fact that we are co-operating with Yash Raj Films, which is renowned for its very high production standards."
