Shahrukh Khan next Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and Golmaal director Rohit Shetty are finally doing their first project together titled Chennai Express.

According to reports, Rohit Shetty who was working on the remake of Gulzar's Angoor has been put on the back-burner for Chennai Express.

A source reveals, "Since it's not easy to get Shahrukh Khan's dates, Rohit (Shetty) felt it was important to have another script ready. If the script of Angoor remake didn't shape up to their liking, it would take a while before they came up with another concept for a film with Shahrukh Khan."

The source also adds that Shahrukh Khan was impressed with the idea at the first narration of Chennai Express. It is said that after Shahrukh Khan said yes to Chennai Express, the Angoor remake was put on hold. Our source informs further, "Shah Rukh has a romantic film under the direction of Yash Chopra apart from Don 2. In a way, this is a break from action films."

Buzz is that, instead of Kareena Kapoor who has now been finalized to play the lead, SRK was initially keen to have Katrina Kaif as his leading lady. Apparently, he was miffed with Bebo for prioritising Bodyguard over Ra.One.

However, Rohit felt Kareena Kapoor, who has also worked in his Golmaal series would suit the character better.

"Considering the action-comedy element of the film, the female character is quite a firebrand. No one else except Kareena could suit the part," says the source.

Talking about the fate of the Angoor remake, the source said that the rights of the film are now with Rohit who is said to be getting Rs 12 crore as his fees for Chennai Express.

Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif unaware of the climax!

Yash Chopra's directorial venture is making a lot of noise since the time of its inception. Firstly, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif working together came as a big shock to the audience and now the director has added some more excitement. As per reports, he is trying to keep the climax of the film under wraps, not only for the world but also for Shah Rukh Khan, Kartina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Apparently, the ending is known only to Yash Chopra himself and his son Aditya Chopra. SRK has also been kept away from the secret. All we have been able to find out is that, it's a love triangle set in London, where the three actors play contemporary working class characters. The treatment of love is very mature and every actor has their own challenging part to play.

Well, now it's time to wait and watch who will get SRK, will it be Katrina or Anushka.

Who will walk away with SRK – Katrina or Anushka?

Shah Rukh Khan's next film with Yash Chopra co-starring two beauties – Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma – is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Apart from the magic that SRK is bound to create with Yash Chopra, the film is special for several reasons. For one, Yashji returns as director after a long time. Secondly, SRK will be romancing two ladies in it, one of who happens to be his arch rival Salman's ex girlfriend!

However, now there is one more reason why the film is different from other romances. Apparently the director has decided to keep the conclusion of this love triangle a secret, not just from the world, but also from the stars! Neither Katrina nor Anushka know who Shah Rukh Khan will walk away with at the end.
A source close to the project told a tabloid, "Nobody knows who is going to get SRK in the end, except Aditya and Yash Chopra. Shah Rukh hasn't been told either though he is the leading man!"

Apparently, Khan has been persistently asking Chopra to let him into the secret but he hasn't relented, yet. Insiders also say that perhaps Chopra didn't want to revisit the situation of his old film 'Daag', where Raakhee and Sharmila were constantly at loggerheads over Rajesh Khanna. In this case, Shah Rukh shares a great rapport with Anushka having starred with her in her debut film 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' but he is working with Katrina for the first time.

The film, sources say, is a love story set in London where the three actors play contemporary working-class characters. Katrina apparently has one of the most challenging roles of her career.

When contact Kat tried to brush it off saying she simply enjoyed the thought of being a Yash Chopra heroine. But we are dying to know who SRK will choose in the end!

Deepika replaces Kareena in Chennai Express!

If all goes well, Deepika might be Shah Rukh Khan's co-passenger in the Rohit Shetty directed journey

The collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty made Chennai Express one of the 'hottest' films to watch out for. After a short period of indecision regarding the casting of either Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady in the film, SRK's RA.One heroine and Rohit's favourite, Bebo had emerged victorious.

In fact, the actress had even said in an interview, "Rohit and I are finalising the script and other details. Rohit is like family, and I am seriously looking forward to working with him again." However, her enthusiasm regarding the project has been rather short-lived. Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Kareena, once happy to be a part of the project, has excused herself from it. Reason: the generic 'date problems'.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who has recently been in the news for leaving Race 2 producer Ramesh Taurani in a mess by walking out of the project midway, has been asked to come on board Chennai Express.

A friend of Kareena, confirmed that the actress is no longer a part of the film and added, "Kareena has already informed Rohit Shetty that she wouldn't be able to work in Chennai Express. SRK is aware of it as well."

As for Deepika's inclusion in the Rohit Shetty film, a source close to the project said, "Deepika has given her nod of consent. The official signing should happen soon."

Caring for your loved ones is Romance: SRK

Shah Rukh Khan speaks on being the 'king of romance'.

Who better than Shah Rukh Khan to speak on romance on Valentine's day. The superstar who epitomizes romance in hindi cinema, says what makes women go weak in the knees, every time he looks into the eyes of his actress.

"Caring for the person you love is romance for me. I am not as romantic as you see me onscreen. I am quite boring and shy in real life. I don't interact with women too much, I am however gentle with women, I treat them with respect which is why they like me doing romantic films" says Shah Rukh.

It was feared the Bollywood superstar would be a no-show because of illness.

BERLIN – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will make the premiere of his latest actioner Don 2 at the Berlin film festival on Saturday night. Khan had to cancel his original flight to Berlin on Wednesday after coming down with a severe flu.

But pumped up on antibiotics, Khan boarded a plane on Thursday and is expected to arrive Friday in time both for the Don 2 press conference and the gala on Saturday.

Daughter questions SRK

Shah Rukh Khan enjoys huge fan following at home and abroad and is seen as a very cool actor. But when it comes to real life, is he a true role model? Let's see what his kids have to say about that.

"Daughter just reprimanded me... how can u be the HT survey youth role model if you smoke. So to all the youths out there... please don't smoke!! (sic)" tweeted Shah Rukh.

"Big reprimand for smoking from my strict little atom bomb of a daughter!!!" he added. 46-year-old King Khan is said to be a chain-smoker but has admitted smoking is the "worst habit".

SRK keeps updating the comments/opinions of his two kids. Recently he tweeted that his daughter's remarks made him feel on top of the world. 'My lil girl said she is proud of me... uff feel 6 ft 2 inches tall... loved and blessed to have her in my life. My beautiful girl,' (sic) Shah Rukh wrote. Though the 11-year-old is quite proud of her dad, that doesn't mean she approves his bad habits as well.

Some time back, his 14-year-old son Aryan said that his superstar dad is not cool enough. "'My film 'RA.One' talks about the relationship between every father and son. So the film has a bit of my relationship with my son. Like he feels that I'm not cool enough and he feels that I don't have great abs and I'm not a stud enough. The child in this film also feels similar things,' SRK said during Ra One music launch.

Aryan made his debut as a child artist in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001.

Aryan played the role of young Rahul (the character which SRK played) in the opening credits of the movie.

Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri walk the elegant path

The last month or so hasn't been a smooth ride in the Khan household.

After all there were talks about Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra's 'close friendship' upsetting SRK's wife, Gauri Khan, and disturbing the perfect balance in the Khan residence.

As if that wasn't enough, Neelam Kothari was brought into the picture with Priyanka Chopra allegdely accusing her for spreading the rumours, and filling Gauri's ears. However, what we applaud is the dignified silence that SRK and Gauri maintained in their seemingly difficult time.

Gauri accompanied Shah Rukh when she had to, with a smile on her face and graceful in her demeanour displayed a confidence of much security. Shah Rukh, on the other hand, played his part, well, too, even while interacting with Priyanka Chopra. There was no awkwardness of any kind, and the matter was well taken care.

We are told that Shah Rukh and Gauri have sorted out their differences, and SRK - the doting father that he is - has managed to save his tag of being the 'perfect family man', one that he carries with much pride!

Shah Rukh Khan gearing up for IPL 5 – Cricket News Update

Shah Rukh Khan gearing up for IPL 5 – Cricket News Update

Indian Bollywood megastar, Shah Rukh Khan says that he is looking forward to meet the new coach of his Indian Premier League franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, for the upcoming fifth edition of the lucrative tournament.

With the auction scheduled for Feb 4, intensive preparations for selection and planning by the franchises are underway with all outfits keen to back the best deals.

For KKR, the outfit has come a long way from its mediocre showings in the initial years under the leadership of local and national team legend, Sourav Ganguly. Their marked improvement has come under the guidance of current Men In Blue opener, Gautam Gambhir, where the side also qualified for the 2011 Champions League T20.

The first assignment of the team sees them appointing new coach, Trevor Bayliss, after Dav Whatmore resigned from the post following interest shown by the Pakistan authorities in fulfilling the vacant head post position, currently occupied by Mohsin Khan on an interim basis.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is well known to many as the mega Bollywood superstar is also a passionate cricket follower, where he has invested heavily in his Kolkata franchise over the past five years. He is hoping to provide sufficient moral support to the outfit but is also keen to get a first-hand take on the team's strategy under their new coach.

"I will be meeting him (Trevor) in Mumbai tomorrow. To be frank, I myself don't know about the specifics on the preparation. "Cricketing decisions lie with our captain Gautam Gambhir and the support staff. I will get to know about the preparation tomorrow night and discuss the technical details," he said.

The 2012 edition, slated for April, is expected to be the usual mega affair, with franchises out to challenge the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai side, defending champions for two years now.

The nearly two month extensive tournament's concluding auction will take place tomorrow with 144 players waiting anxiously to get scooped up by the nine franchises, which also include players from the now defunct Kochi outfit after their contract was terminated for a breach of non-payments of bank guarantees.

Just keep hugging me: Shah Rukh Khan

The recently concluded Zee Cine Awards 2012 that took place in Macau saw several lifelong dreams come true. And one such dream was that of Zee TV's leading ladies Mitali Nag (Krishna of Afsar Bitiya), Asha Negi (Poorvi of Pavitra Rishta) and Rati Pandey (Indira of Hitler Didi) when they had the opportunity of coming face-to-face and interacting with their heartthrob — superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

They attended the press conference for Indian and international media with King Khan and ZEEL MD & CEO, Punit Goenka at a press conference on the day of the awards soiree. At the press conference, when Goenka asked SRK for his words of advice to the three leading ladies on reaching the pinnacle of success after having similarly started his career on television, Shah Rukh said in a lighter vein, "I have a tip for you three beautiful women — Just keep hugging me! Give me a hug in the morning, afternoon and evening daily and watch how your life just changes for the better... all those who have hugged me have had a successful life!" Not about to let such a golden opportunity pass them by, the three ladies immediately huddled on stage to hug the hero they've loved and admired for so many years.

Speaking about their brush with the Badshaah of Bollywood, Asha said, "Sharing the dias with Shah Rukh has been the absolute highlight of our entire Zee Cine Awards experience. He is so down to earth and charming, we were completely floored by him." Rati added, "It took us a while to digest that we were actually hugging Shah Rukh Khan. He spoke so well at the press conference and his words of advice to us as an actor are something we will always cherish and live by! There's just one regret that I am left with and that is the fact that I did not ask him when I will get the chance to work with him. I was too overwhelmed at the mere sight of SRK to think coherently and collect my thoughts."

Watch the Zee Cine Awards 2012 which will be telecast on Zee TV and Zee Telugu at 8 pm on Sunday, February 5.

i1 Super Series' first season cancelled, to be held next year

The inaugural season of the much-hyped motor racing event i1 Super Series, which has Sachin Tendulkar as a stakeholder and Shahrukh Khan as the co-owner of a team, has been cancelled due to non-availability of drivers.

According to Machdar Motorsports, the organiser of the racing league, the series has been postponed to next year.

"Dates of a bulk of drivers were conflicting with other international events. Also most of the team owners felt that they were not fully ready. So we thought we should not do it this year but hold it around the same time (January-February) next year," Machdar Motorsports CEO Darshan M told PTI.

The company had anounced a driver line up of big names, that included 1997 Formula One Champion Jacques Villeneuve, 2011 Formula One drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi and Karun Chandhok, and former F1 race winners Giancarlo Fisichella, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jean Alesi.

Apart from the international drivers, the Indian drivers included Armaan Ebrahim, Aditya Patel and Parthiva Sureswaren.

The organisers have also been unable to finalise the full nine teams. So far only four team owners - Arindam Chaudhuri for Delhi; Nagarjuna and Narendra Chowdary (Hyderabad); K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju (Chennai), and Arjun Baljee and Rudra Dalmia(Bangalore) have been finalised.

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan along with his Kolkata Knight Riders partners, Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta, were announced as the owners of the Mumbai franchise but it is understood that this has not yet been confirmed.
