Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood Phenomenon, to Host Indian Live Version of Simon Cowell's 'Got Talent'; World's Second Richest Actor After Jerry Seinfeld Looking for India's Happiest Dancer

Shah Rukh Khan, the second richest actor in the world after Jerry Seinfeld, will host "Got Talent World Stage Live," an extension of the Simon Cowell "Got Talent" TV franchise. The live event will be held on Dec. 6, at Mumbai's Andheri sports complex.

In statement, Shah Rukh Khan said "Performing arts is a pure act of passion and love. I am glad to associate with Got Talent World Stage as a host. I am sure that we will get to witness some extraordinary talent."

Simon Cowell added, "The Got Talent format has uncovered some incredible stars around the world, and this is a great celebration of Indian and international artists."

Khan will host the live event, which will showcase 10 Indian and international talents like popular illusionist Darcy Oake. The event will be broadcast on Colors.

Colors CEO Raj Nayak said "We have been associated with the Got Talent franchise for over six years now, which has not only witnessed the successful India's Got Talent series but also a corporate extension in the form of CEO's Got Talent. We are looking forward to the on-ground extension of the property especially because it gives us the opportunity to raise the entertainment quotient through the exhibition of exceptional local and international talent."

Shah Rukh Khan, 48, has been called King Khan, King of Bollywood and Bollywood Badshah, which means emperor. Khan was named a knight this summer in a ceremony in Mumbai. Laurent Fabius, the French foreign affairs minister, conferred the title Knight of the Legion of Honor, France's highest civilian honor, on Khan.

In a statement, Fabius said, "The French people hail Shah Rukh Khan's talent and generosity," which transcend "cultural and historical differences."

"Got Talent" will be India's first ever multi-city dance tour. Khan will lead the search for the country's "happiest dancer." The search will be conducted on a special "Happy Dancing" bus that will traverse Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Indore.
